3/13/13 The creeks are looking great with very nice flow and reports of of fresh fish coming in. The bay is open water now and by the weekend will have nice suppy of fresh emerald shiners. Plenty of flys here for the fly fishing anglers and pleanty of live bait so stop in and get some fresh tackle.
2/27/13 The creeks are opened up and will be high in the morning and should be in great shape for steelhead later in the afternoon. We are not sure how Lake Plesant ice is right now but it should still be good because the rain just changed to light snow and the temp outside dropped. There were a few guys that fished Eaton today so the ice there must still be good to. If anyone gets a nice catch of fish we would like to see them so we can get some new pictures up on here.
2/20/13 Looks like the creeks are going to freeze back up again with very cold temps and high winds n snow. We just got stocked back up on large golden Shiners that are 5" to 7" this time and also have certified emeralds for fishing Eaton Resivour and Lake Plesant on the ice. Eaton is near 9" of ice and Lake Plesant is around 6".
2/19/13 With tempatures around 39 yesterday and today and with 1/8 inch of rain the creeks should be in great condition. Lets hope for some colder temps to keep the ice on the inland lakes. With the rain on top and if we get some cold weather it should make some great conditions for ice fishing but you will need some cleats for your boots. We will be restocked by the weekend with 4" to 6" golden shiners. We have a few requests for big suckers and at this time they are not available.
2/16/13 The ice on Lake Plesant is 6" thick right now and stocked full with some trout, plus a wide variety of other fish that can be caught there. The Mile creeks are fishable and there are fish in all of them. The rain the other night must of brought a few more in. We also have reports that the ice on Eaton is safe but we don't have a current thickness.
2/12/13 The PA Fish Commission just stocked around 200, 6 to 10 lb steelhead on the upper part of 4 Mile Creek between rt 5 and rt 20. From the reports we have that there is open waters to fish steelhead in the mile creeks. We just smoked some fresh fish today. We don't have any current ice fishing reports after the high winds and warm temps yesterday so if you know of an area that is no longer safe or area that is still good ice, give us a call.
2/5/13 Eaton is not safe ice at this time but good reports of good ice at Lake Pleasant which was just stocked yesterday. We are told it is frozen all the way across the good ice. The same with Horseshoe and Misery.
2/3/13 The ice on Horseshoe Pond and Misery Bay is safe for ice fishing, and we are waiting for a report on Eaton. We know that yesterday there were guys fishing on the creeks for steelhead but they were breaking out the thin layer and leave that area for an hour and then coming back later to fish. From where we understand that there was a fresh run of fish the other day with the rain that we had, which was just under an inch. We currenty have have large Golden Shiners that are cerfified and certified emeralds that are good in NY, Ohio, and anywhere in PA. Fresh report from Eaton. There is 7 inches of ice but you need a spud bar to check your steps in front of you because there are spoft spots that you can easily go through in.
1/24/13 We saw quite a few ice huts out on Misery Bay yesterday. Our reports tell us that there is 4-5 inches of ice out there. We also want to let you know that we have certified emerald shiners for inland waters and Large Golden shiners that are certified for inland waters.
5-8-12 Got some great news to share today. Todd Young of Nazerth PA caught a new PA state record Lake Trout while fishing aboard Eyecon II fishing charter out of North East PA with Captain Scott Snyder. The fish was 39 inches long had a girth of 26 inches and the weight was 29.28 lbs. This was caught off the mountain. Hats off guys for a super great catch!
